Act I-III Summary in as you like it
Duke Senior is over thrown by Duke Frederick. Duke Senior is banished to the Forest of arden. Rosalind (Duke Seniors daughter) is allowed to stay because she is very close with her cousin Celia (Duke Fredericks daughter). Rosalind attends a wrestling match, and falls in love with Orlando, the winner. Orlando’s older brother, Oliver, inherited all of his diseased fathers money, and plots to kill his youngest brother Orlando. Orlando’s old servent tells him of Oliver’s plot, and convinces Orlando to escape to the forest of arden before he is killed by his brother. Duke Fredrick accuses Rosalind of being untrustworthy, then banishes her into the Forest of arden. Celia plans to leave with Rosalind, despite her fathers wishes. Rosalind dresses as a man, and Celia changes her name. While in the forest of arden Celia and Rosalind come addross Orlando, and talk to him as if they were men. Rosalind see’s that Orland has been carving her name into the trees along his way. She advises him to tell her his true feelings.
